| Sydney is a true marvel of
eating experience having a stunning array of ethnic eating thanks to the
various waves of immigrants inhabiting its sprawling suburbs.
Personally I am more excited by a new Indonesian cheapo lunch outfit
selling authentic deep fried anchovy and soya beans, than a brushed metal
fusion bullshit ego trip serving towers of chicken breasts on a frigging
tomato capucchino. Such is the world of fashion that it craps on
authenticity. The disrespect of food culture and fine produce causes me
deep angst. I recall The River Cafe cooks making vin santo ice cream, I
mean come on.
At the opposite end of the spectrum, this page is dedicated to my favourite places to eat and buy food, authentic as can be in the brave new world. |
